Marcus Baynes-Rock

I am a researcher with the Centre for Research on Social Inclusion at Macquarie University. My research interests have led me to Harar Ethiopia where spotted hyenas walk the streets and are encouraged by the locals. What I’m doing here is investigating the nature of the relationship between hyenas and the people of Harar and, along the way, collecting the stories and histories of the two species who coexist in this World Heritage listed city.
